Project executing organisation:
On the twentieth anniversary of 9 October 1989, citizens from East and West, church people and peace activists founded the Foundation Peaceful Revolution. The aim of the foundation was and is to transfer the fundamental value patterns of the people who stood up for peaceful change in the churches and on the streets in 1989 to the present day.
In 2016, under the impression of the reception crisis in Germany, the Foundation felt a strong desire to contribute to improving the situation of refugees with a project of its own.
After a preliminary needs analysis, the Foundation commissioned the Leipzig musician and music educator Tilmann Löser to set up a network that brings musicians with and without refugee experience into contact with each other and with event organisers and committed citizens.

Project Management
Tilmann Löser studied piano, chamber music and improvisation in Leipzig, Brussels and Boston. Together with the Foundation Peaceful Revolution, Tilmann Löser has initiated transcultural music projects in Leipzig since 2013.
In 2016, the Foundation commissioned him to coordinate the project 'Sounds of Hope'. Together with a team from the foundation and many organisations and individuals, he developed the project, in which he is active as an organiser and musician.

Maria Bien
Public Relations and Communication
Maria Bien Maria Bien moved to Leipzig more than 20 years ago. As a cultural scientist, her heart beats for the mediation of education, art and culture in society.
Since 2019, she has been working in various projects for the Stiftung Friedliche Revolution. In the project "Sounds of Hope", she is mainly responsible for public relations and communication with project participants and cooperation partners.

Ali Pirabi
Artistic Director Orchestra
Ali Pirabi Ali Pirabi was born in Shiraz (Iran) and has lived in Leipzig since 2014. He studied composition and world music at the University of Tehran and has worked as artistic director and composer with many orchestras and ensembles.
He worked as a freelance musician and composer in the 'Klänge der Hoffnung' project from 2016 to 2020 and has been employed by the Stiftung Friedliche Revolution as artistic director of the orchestra project since 2021.
